All Case Studies
A service business website converts when a visitor can find their exact service in seconds, see proof that firms like theirs hired you, and send an enquiry your team can price without chasing. One page per service, proof beside the form, a short form that asks the right first question, and fast mobile pages do most of the work.
This guide is for consultancies, B2B firms, clinics, logistics companies and other businesses that sell a service rather than a product in a cart. Online stores follow different rules, covered in our six Shopify conversion wins. If most of your enquiries come from ads, our landing page design work applies the same ideas to single campaign pages.
What makes a business website high-converting?
A high-converting business website produces enquiries that turn into real conversations, not just form fills. Count the enquiries your team can act on, by service, and judge the site on that number.
For a service firm, a conversion is usually one of four actions: a quote request, a booked call, a WhatsApp message or a tap on the phone number. Track each one separately so you can see which service pages earn business. Our guide to setting up GA4 properly shows how to mark these as key events.
Four things then decide the rate: clarity, proof, friction and speed. The rest of this guide takes them in order, then looks at what existing customers need.
Why does every service need its own page?
Because buyers arrive with one need, and a page about everything answers none of them well. A visitor who wants customs clearance should land on a page about customs clearance.
RAA Logistics shows why. The Dubai forwarder, based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, had an older web presence that mixed its services together and was hard to use on a phone. The site we built gives each of its seven services, from warehousing and sea freight to customs clearance and cargo insurance, its own page at an address written the way people search. The RAA Logistics case study shows the structure.
A large catalogue needs search as well as pages. Instacertify, a Noida consultancy, handles dozens of certification schemes, from BIS registration to CE marking, and few visitors know the full name of the certificate they need. So the homepage of the site we built leads with a search bar, and service pages list each licence as a card with breadcrumbs. The Instacertify case study explains how a visitor moves from a broad category to one licence in a few taps.
Clear service pages also help search. A page that covers one service in depth gives Google, and AI assistants, a plain answer to repeat when someone asks who offers that service in your city.
What should an enquiry form ask?
A good enquiry form asks the one question your team needs to price the job first, then only the contact details you will use. Everything else can wait for the call.
On the RAA site, the quote form asks the visitor to choose a service before anything else, so every enquiry arrives already labelled. A few rules help any form:
- Ask for the service or need first.
- Keep only the fields you will use in the first reply.
- Show errors next to the field, in plain words.
- Add a hidden spam trap that bots fill in and people never see.
- Ask for consent before you contact someone on WhatsApp or SMS.
- Offer a second route, such as WhatsApp or a phone number, for people who would rather not type.
The Nielsen Norman Group's guidance on web form design covers labels, error messages and field order in more depth. Forms also need to work for everyone: visible labels, keyboard focus and readable contrast are all part of the WCAG accessibility guidelines.
Where should proof go on a B2B website?
Put proof next to the decision, not on a separate page nobody opens. A short client quote beside the enquiry form does more work than a testimonials page three clicks away.
Proof that persuades a B2B buyer has three parts:
- A named client and role. A quote from a CEO with a company name carries more weight than "a happy client".
- A link to where the review lives. Reviews on GoodFirms or Clutch are checked by the platform, so a buyer can verify them.
- A case study that shows the work. Screens, structure and what changed, in plain words.
Our own website reviews show the detail buyers look for. Harshit Handa, CEO of Corpify, a regulatory compliance and taxation company, wrote on Clutch: "[Dcrayon's] on-time delivery was commendable." Instacertify's co-founder, Nikhil Tiwari, wrote: "[Dcrayon] delivered on time. We communicated via in-person and virtual meetings." Quotes like these answer the two questions a B2B buyer has before filling in a form: will this firm deliver, and will it listen?
How fast does a business website need to be?
Fast enough to pass Google's Core Web Vitals on an ordinary phone. Google's Core Web Vitals documentation sets the targets: Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds, and Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1.
On service sites, slow pages usually come from large hero images, sliders, chat widgets and tracking scripts that load before the content. Practical fixes:
- Use one compressed hero image instead of a slider.
- Load chat and review widgets after the main content.
- Keep the styles for the top of the page small and load them first. The RAA site preloads a separate critical stylesheet for exactly this reason.
- Test on a real phone over mobile data, not only on office Wi-Fi.
Mobile layout matters as much as speed. Shyam Juneja of Just Burgers Plus wrote on GoodFirms that we "delivered a modern, mobile-friendly website that prioritized customer experience". The same applies to a procurement head checking your firm between meetings: they are on a phone too.
What do existing customers need from the website?
Self-service pages for the questions customers ask most. Every status call your team does not have to take is time back for new business.
RAA's customers wanted to see where their cargo was without phoning the office. The Tracking page now embeds RAA's own tracking portal from its freight software inside the site, so a customer enters a tracking number and sees live status at any hour. Look through your inbox for the questions customers repeat: order status, document downloads, appointment changes. Each one is a candidate for a self-service page.
How do you know the website is working?
Track three numbers by service: enquiries, qualified enquiries, and enquiries that became paid work. A rise in form fills without a rise in qualified leads usually means spam is getting through or the page is attracting the wrong visitors.
Review the numbers monthly with the people who answer the enquiries. They will tell you which pages bring good leads faster than any dashboard. If you need the site planned or rebuilt, our web development and UI and UX design teams work on these projects together.
Check our reviews
The Corpify and Instacertify quotes above sit on our Clutch profile, where seven reviews average 4.9, and the Just Burgers quote sits on our GoodFirms profile, where eight verified reviews also average 4.9, both counts as of October 2026. Questions buyers ask
How many fields should a contact form have?
As few as your team needs for the first reply. For most service firms that means the service, a name, one contact method and a short message. Budget and timing can come later, on the call.
Should we show prices on service pages?
Explain what changes the price, even if you cannot list a figure. Buyers who understand what shapes the cost send better enquiries, and your team spends less time on poor fits.
How long should a service page be?
Long enough to answer what the service covers, who it suits, how the work runs and what proof you have. Short paragraphs, clear headings and an enquiry button near both the top and the bottom keep a longer page easy to scan.
Is a chatbot worth adding?
Only if a person answers it or it hands over cleanly to someone who can. A WhatsApp link or a short form that reaches a real person is often the simpler choice for a service firm.
