Challenge
Prompt, a dairy-technology company making equipment for cattle breeding, milk testing and milking, sells direct to farmers through Prompt Dairy Mart. Dcrayon designed and built its Shopify catalogue.
The range runs from small consumables to farm machinery. At one end sit BovEasy rapid pregnancy tests for cattle, sold as single kits and in boxes. In the middle are the ThawEasy Lite digital semen thawing machine and the BreedEasy digital insemination gun. At the other end are MilkEasy milking machines in several configurations, priced many times higher than a box of test kits. The buyers are dairy farmers, artificial insemination technicians and vets, and the brief paid particular attention to those ordering online for the first time.
Dcrayon was engaged for the website development, and archived copies of promptdairymart.com from April and August 2025 show the store live on Dcrayon's theme. The store was built Hindi-first, and the language and URL decisions behind that are covered in the Prompt Dairy Mart Hindi-first store case study.
What Prompt's equipment range asked of an online catalogue
One product came in many pack sizes, and one machine came in many configurations.
A farmer checking a few animals needs a single test kit, while a technician working across a village needs a box. Milking machines differ by the number of buckets and clusters (the set of teat cups that attaches to one animal), by motor power, and by whether the unit is fixed in place or mounted on a trolley. If those options sit together under vague names, a buyer can easily order the wrong one, and a wrong milking machine is an expensive return.
Buyers of expensive machines needed a way to ask before paying.
Building trust with first-time online buyers was a priority in the brief. A buyer weighing a machine that costs many times more than a test kit is likely to have questions that a product page cannot answer on its own, such as which model suits the herd.
A new shop had to show the company standing behind it.
The shop needed to make clear that it was Prompt's own store, so that buyers knew who they were paying and who stood behind the machine after delivery.
Solution
Prompt Dairy Mart's home page, section by section
Dcrayon built the store on its own Shopify theme, adapted from Yuva 5.0, and assembled the home page from a fixed order of sections so that a buyer moves from products to reasons to trust them. The archived copies from April and August 2025 show the same order.
At the top, an announcement bar welcomed buyers in Hindi and carried the main links (Home, About Us, Products and Contact) with a sign-in link. A banner slider came next, then a tabbed product section headed "Our products" in Hindi, which showed the range as a grid of product cards. Below the products, a rich text section asked and answered "What is Prompt?", an image-with-text section set out the breeding range and its users, and a promotion banner invited farmers to get in touch for more information. The footer carried the useful links, the store policies, the contact details and the language menu. A slide-out panel, shared across the store, offered coupons and similar products.
The order puts the company story and the invitation to talk between the products and the footer, so a buyer who scrolls past the products meets them before the contact details, which matters for a shop asking first-time buyers to trust it with a machine. The UI and UX design work set out this order, and our Shopify development team built the sections so that Prompt's team can change the text and images in each without editing code.
Naming pack sizes and milking machine set-ups so buyers can compare
Each pack size and each machine configuration was listed as its own product, with the deciding detail in the product name. The archived copies show the BovEasy kit as a single kit and as boxes of 3, 10 and 30 tests, each with its own page and price. The MilkEasy machines were named by their set-up, for example single bucket and single cluster on a fixed mount with a 1 HP motor, double bucket and double cluster on a fixed mount, or double bucket and double cluster on a trolley. The ThawEasy Lite and BreedEasy names carried what the device does, a digital semen thawing machine and a digital AI gun.
Listing the variants as separate products means a buyer scanning the product grid sees the exact pack or configuration and its price without opening each product, and each option has its own page and its own description that can be shared on its own. This is the kind of catalogue planning we do in e-commerce solutions work, where the structure has to match how people choose.
Prices and savings on every equipment card
Every product card paired the sale price with the struck-through regular price and a sale label in Hindi, so a buyer comparing a box of 10 tests with a box of 30 could see both the price and the saving at a glance. The cards used the same layout for a test kit and for a milking machine, which keeps the grid easy to scan even though the prices span a wide range. New pack sizes or machine models can be added in the same pattern, because the card reads its details from the product itself.
WhatsApp chat and phone support beside the cart
A floating "Chat with us on WhatsApp" button stayed on screen as the buyer scrolled, so a question about a machine could go straight to the company from any point on the page. The footer gave two phone numbers and an email address, and the promotion banner on the home page invited buyers to get in touch for more information. Together these gave a cautious first-time buyer a human route alongside the cart.
Checkout and platform protection on promptdairymart.com in 2025
On Shopify, hosting, certificates and checkout payment security are the platform's job. The store carried Shopify's dynamic checkout buttons and the theme loaded Shiprocket's checkout scripts, so payment details were entered on hosted checkout pages and never passed through the theme.
Headers saved with the April and August 2025 archive copies record the same platform protections on both dates: a three-month HSTS policy that keeps returning browsers on HTTPS, a refusal to be shown inside any other site's frame, set both as X-Frame-Options and in the content security policy, automatic upgrading of insecure requests with mixed content blocked, and nosniff on file types.

What farmers and staff could do on the 2025 store
A farmer or technician could find the exact kit size or machine configuration they needed by its name, see its price and saving, read the company's story in Hindi, and message the company on WhatsApp before committing to a machine. All of this was in Hindi by default, with English, Gujarati, Marathi and Punjabi a tap away in the language menu.
Prompt had its own branded store for direct sales, with a catalogue pattern that new products and pack sizes could follow, a home page its team can edit section by section, and contact routes that sent buyer questions straight to its own staff.

Key takeaways
Lessons from cataloguing dairy equipment
For equipment with many options, the product name does a lot of the work. When the pack size or the machine set-up is in the name, buyers can compare options from the grid without opening every page, and each option gets a page of its own to explain and to share.
High-value products sold to first-time online buyers need a human route next to the cart. A WhatsApp button and visible phone numbers do not replace a good product page, but they catch the buyer who is nearly ready and has one question left. If you plan to take enquiries this way, our guide to WhatsApp marketing without getting your number banned covers how to run it safely at scale.
Order the home page around trust. Products first, then who the company is, then an invitation to talk is a simple sequence, and it suits any shop selling technical products to buyers who are new to ordering online. The language and URL choices that made this store Hindi-first are explained in the Prompt Dairy Mart Hindi-first store case study.
