Challenge
Blameless sells serums, sunscreen and face care for oily and acne-prone skin to shoppers in India. Dcrayon worked on its Shopify storefront and was contracted to manage its Instagram account.
Ten skincare products that each have to sell themselves
Blameless runs a deliberately short range. On 13 Oct 2026 the store listed ten products: three serums, a matte gel sunscreen, a face wash, a moisturiser spray, a co-branded "Blameless Barrier" range and combination packs. The brand's line, "Kyuki Ye Skin Ka Mamla Hai" (because it is a matter of your skin), sets a plain-spoken tone. In April 2026 the brand also contracted Dcrayon for Instagram account management; this case study focuses on the storefront.
Each product explained through its ingredients
With only ten products, every product page carries a lot of the selling. Shoppers choose by concern, such as oil control, acne or sun protection, and by active ingredient. If a product name does not say what is inside and who it is for, the shopper has to open every page to find out.
Shoppers who arrive from short videos
Blameless markets itself on Instagram. A shopper who has just watched a reel expects to find the same kind of video on the site and to buy from it, not to start again from a plain grid of product photos.
Routines that should be bought together
The brand suggests pairing a serum with its matte sunscreen as a day routine. The store needed to sell that pairing as one product with one price.
Solution
Minimog sections arranged for a short range
The store runs on Minimog, a Shopify theme built on Online Store 2.0 (version 5.6.0). Online Store 2.0 is Shopify's section-based theme format, which lets the brand rearrange homepage sections from the theme editor without code. The homepage stacks scrolling promotion strips, a collection tabs block, a slider, a short-video row, a featured product slider and a custom content block, with a sticky bar on mobile. The menu is short: All Products, Combo, Sunscreen, Serum, Blog and Contact. This is our Shopify development work.
Product titles that name the actives
Each product title carries its key ingredients, the skin type it suits and its size. The pore-refining serum, for example, names salicylic acid, neem, green tea and hibiscus, says it is a lightweight gel for acne-prone skin and gives the 50ml volume. On a listing or in search results, that tells the shopper whether the product fits before they open it. Cards show the sale price beside the regular price, with wishlist and compare buttons.
A Watch and Buy row and single-price routines
The Watch and Buy row of short product videos gives visitors from Instagram the format they have just seen, with products a tap away. Combination packs such as the Oil Control Combo sit in their own collection with a single price for the routine. Alongside the theme, the store uses Shopify apps for a one-page checkout (GoKwik, with Razorpay payments) and WhatsApp reminders for abandoned carts. Hosting, HTTPS and the security headers on every page, including HSTS and frame blocking, are managed by Shopify.

| Homepage sections | Collection tabs, slider, short-video row, featured product slider, custom content | Homepage |
| Mobile furniture | Sticky bar on small screens | Every page on mobile |
Results
What the Blameless storefront gives shoppers
Shoppers can tell from a product title which ingredients it contains and which skin type it suits, watch short product videos on the homepage and buy from them, and buy a day routine as one combo. The brand's team changes homepage sections and offers from Shopify's theme editor.

Key takeaways
Clarity first on a ten-product skincare store
A small skincare range depends on clarity. When the product title already answers "what is in it and is it for me?", every listing, search result and shared link does more work. Using the same short-video format shoppers meet on Instagram keeps the store consistent with how the brand is found. One habit is worth starting early: keep a list of which features come from the theme and which from apps, because every app adds scripts that need review when the theme changes.
