Challenge

Natually, the second brand of CuraSkin Solutions Pvt. Ltd., sells natural skincare and haircare direct to shoppers in India. Its web store already ran on the Laravel platform Dcrayon built, as described in Natually's Shopify to Laravel migration. The brand wanted an Android app that offered more than a copy of the website, without a second shop to manage.

What Natually needed from an app beyond its web store

One catalogue behind both. The website and the app had to show the same products, prices and offers, and checkout had to run through the same platform. A separate app back office would mean every price change made twice.

Help for shoppers who know the concern, not the product. The range spans ten categories, from Skin Care and Sun Care to Men's Grooming, Facial Kits and Combos. Many shoppers start with a skin, hair or lip concern, and the app had to point them to the right products.

Reasons to come back. Skincare and haircare are bought again and again. A phone app can hold rewards and offers in a way a browser tab cannot, so loyalty had to be part of the first build.

Payment and delivery the way Indian shoppers expect. UPI, cards, net banking and Cash on Delivery all had to work at checkout, and shoppers needed to follow a parcel without contacting the brand.

The brand's earlier Shopify years are covered in the Natually storefront case study.

Solution

One Flutter app on the same store platform

Dcrayon built the app in Flutter and published it on Google Play for Android. The app does not keep its own copy of the catalogue. It works from the same Laravel store platform that runs the Natually website. That platform has a versioned mobile API with endpoints for sign-in, the shopper's profile, products, categories, wishlist, cart, checkout, notifications and preferences.

The gain is one source of truth. When the Natually team edits a product or a category in the store, the website and the app change together, and a product saved to the wishlist on the phone is held by the same platform. Our API development page explains how we design an API that a website and an app can share, and our Flutter development page covers the app side.

Shopping by category and by concern

Shoppers who know what they want can browse ten categories: Skin Care, Face Care, Hair Care, Body Care, Sun Care, Lip Care, Hair Removal, Men's Grooming, Facial Kits and Combos. The list follows how the range is stocked, so each product has one clear home.

Shoppers who are not sure can use the AI skin analysis. They take a photo and get a skin, hair or lip analysis, with Natually products picked for what it finds. The feature calls an AI model to read the photo and answers with products from the brand's own range.

The listing tells shoppers that an analysis takes about a minute and that the photo is not kept, which settles two obvious questions before anyone points a camera at their face. Our guide to adding AI features to a mobile app covers what to plan before building a feature like this.

Beauty assistant, voice search and photo search

Typing long product names on a phone is slow, so the app offers other ways in. Voice search lets a shopper say what they want, and photo search lets them snap a product to find it. A beauty assistant takes three kinds of request: product suggestions, a night-time routine, and where the shopper's last order is. That last request gives shoppers an answer to a routine delivery question without waiting for a reply from the brand.

Offers, wallet coins and referrals

Offers sit at checkout, where they shape the decision: app offers, bank offers and coupon codes. The Natually Wallet holds coins earned on orders, which the shopper can spend on the next purchase. Refer and earn adds coins when an invited friend joins. Together they give a shopper a reason to open the app for a second order, not only the first.

Checkout, payments and delivery

Checkout takes UPI, cards, net banking or Cash on Delivery, so each shopper pays the way they already do. Saved addresses with location detect cut the typing on the address form. After payment, order tracking follows each order from packing to the doorstep, and the wishlist keeps products for later. How the platform takes payments and holds stock during checkout is described in the migration case study.

What is live on Google Play

As of 26 October 2026, the Natually app is live on Google Play in the Shopping category, rated for 3+, with the listing last updated on 8 October 2026. Every feature described above appears on the listing:

  • shopping across ten categories;
  • AI skin analysis for skin, hair and lips;
  • a beauty assistant, with voice and photo search;
  • app offers, bank offers and coupon codes at checkout;
  • Natually Wallet coins and refer and earn;
  • checkout by UPI, cards, net banking or Cash on Delivery;
  • order tracking, saved addresses with location detect, and a wishlist.

The listing's "About the developer" section shows our US company in Sheridan, Wyoming, because we publish the app from our developer account for the client.

The app is new, so this case study makes no claims about downloads, ratings or sales. What it records is a shipped feature set on one store platform: the website and the app now share one catalogue and one checkout.

You can check the app and every feature above on its Google Play listing.

Where the client's review fits

Natually's founder, Vijay, reviewed Dcrayon on GoodFirms on 21 October 2026. His review covers the stores, social media and paid ads for The Hair and Natually, not the app. In his words: "Having one team handle everything across both websites, social channels, and ad campaigns keeps our messaging consistent and saves us from the headache of juggling multiple vendors."

Key takeaways

Key takeaways for a founder planning a shopping app

  • Build the app on the store you already run. Natually's app reads the same catalogue and uses the same checkout as its website, so the team runs one shop, not two. Our eCommerce app development guide covers this choice in more depth.
  • Give each app-only feature a job the website does less well. Camera-based skin analysis, voice and photo search, and wallet coins all use what a phone does best.
  • Say plainly what an AI feature does with personal data. Natually's listing states how long an analysis takes and that the photo is not kept, before the shopper starts.
  • Match checkout to how your buyers pay. For Indian shoppers, that means UPI, cards, net banking and Cash on Delivery side by side.
  • Design loyalty and checkout together. Coupons, bank offers and wallet coins all apply at the same step, so they belong in the same plan.
  • Agree early whose developer account publishes the app. Natually's app is published from ours for the client. Settle the account question, and how a transfer would work, before launch.
